Unlock full device visibility with Connect+ Edge

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Connect+ Edge, the newest extension to Xyte’s Connect+ ecosystem. The on-prem software allows you to monitor and manage any device on your local network – all from within Xyte’s cloud platform.

From displays to microphones to switches – if it's on the network, Edge can see it.

A list of fully-supported Edge devices can be found here, and drivers for new models are added weekly. If a full driver isn’t yet available, Edge allows heartbeat monitoring for all other devices, which shows a simple device status, e.g. online or offline.

Connect+ Edge is a lightweight, secure software package designed to run on any Linux or macOS machine, or any system capable of running a Docker container. Installation is fast and straightforward: deploy the Edge via a simple shell script, and it spins up as a containerized service – keeping your network isolated and protected by design.

Where and How to Set It Up
To get full visibility, you’ll want to install one Edge instance per physical location or VLAN where devices live. For example:

• A small office needs one Edge on any machine with access to its local devices.

• A university campus may deploy one Edge per building or subnet if devices are separated by network zones.

• Distributed sites or customers with segmented networks should deploy one Edge per segment with device access.

Once installed, Edge automatically connects to your Xyte account, where you can begin claiming devices and monitoring them – whether they’re supported natively or simply reporting status via heartbeat. Visit our documentation center for a step-by-step setup guide.
